Spicy Bourbon Honey Mustard


  • ¼ cup Dijon mustard
  • 2 tablespoons Double Barrel Honey
  • 1 tablespoon bourbon (optional, adjust to taste)
  • ½ teaspoon cayenne pepper (adjust to your desired spice level)
  • ½ teaspoon smoked paprika
  • ¼ teaspoon garlic powder
  • Pinch of salt


  1. Combine all ingredients: In a small bowl, whisk together the Dijon mustard, Double Barrel Honey, bourbon (if using), cayenne pepper, paprika, garlic powder, and salt.
  2. Adjust consistency and taste: Taste the mustard and adjust the seasonings to your preference. If you prefer a thinner consistency, you can add a teaspoon of water or apple cider vinegar at a time, whisking well after each addition.
  3. Store: Transfer the finished mustard to an airtight container and store it in the refrigerator for up to 2 weeks. The flavors will develop further over time.


  • For a smoother texture, you can pulse the mustard ingredients in a food processor a few times before transferring it to the container.
  • This recipe is easily customizable. Feel free to experiment with different spices, such as dried thyme, chipotle powder, or black pepper.
