This recipe takes the classic cheeseburger up a notch with the unique flavors of Double Barrel Honey. The smoky bacon glaze adds a sweet and savory touch, while the rich cheese and crisp toppings create a symphony of textures in every bite.

INGREDIENTS:

For the Burgers:

  • 1 pound ground beef (80/20 lean-to-fat ratio)
  • 1/2 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon freshly ground black pepper
  • 4 hamburger buns

For the Smoky Bacon Glaze:

  • 4 slices thick-cut bacon
  • 2 tablespoons Double Barrel Honey
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1/2 teaspoon smoked paprika

For the Burgers:

  • 4 slices cheddar cheese
  • Sliced red onion
  • Lettuce leaves
  • Sliced tomato
  • Pickles (optional)

    INSTRUCTIONS:

    1. Make the Smoky Bacon Glaze: In a small skillet, cook the bacon over medium heat until crisp. Remove from the pan and crumble. Reserve 1 tablespoon of the bacon drippings in the pan. Add the Double Barrel Honey, soy sauce, and smoked paprika to the pan. Whisk to combine and simmer for 1 minute.

    2. Form the Burgers: Divide the ground beef into 4 equal portions. Form each portion into a patty that is slightly larger in diameter than your hamburger buns. Season the patties with salt and pepper on both sides.

    3. Cook the Burgers: Heat a grill pan or grill to medium-high heat. Grill the burgers for 3-4 minutes per side, or until cooked to your desired doneness. During the last minute of cooking, brush the tops of the burgers with the smoky bacon glaze.

    4. Assemble the Burgers: Toast the hamburger buns on the grill for a few seconds, if desired. Place the cooked burger patty on the bottom bun. Top with cheddar cheese, crumbled bacon, red onion slices, lettuce, tomato, pickles (if using), and drizzle with any remaining smoky bacon glaze.

    5. Serve: Enjoy your delicious Double-Barrel Bacon Cheeseburger!

    TIPS:

    • For a richer flavor, use a higher fat ratio ground beef, such as 85/15.
    • You can adjust the amount of smoked paprika in the glaze for a more or less smoky flavor.
    • Leftover burgers can be stored in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3 days. Reheat in a skillet or microwave until warmed through.

This Double-Barrel Bacon Cheeseburger is a delicious and unique twist on a classic. The smoky bacon glaze adds a touch of sweetness and complexity, making it a burger your taste buds won't soon forget!
